Travel is part of my job and when I have down time I like to checkout old mom and pop camera shops just to see what they have in stock. Aside from film, I normally don't buy much else from them but I'm try and support the little guy as much as possible. I thought a thread listing some analog camera shops might be useful for some members in case they find themselves in an unfamiliar city and need some supplies, services or just want to check out a hidden jewel. Please list the name of establishment, city, offerings and maybe something unique about it.

Glass Key - San Francisco CA
This is actually in my hood but the owners are die hard film guys. Lots of different types of film and they always have expired film on the cheap. They constantly have a wide variety of analog cameras for sale, they have a mamiya 7 that wants to come home with me real bad. One of the owners can do minor repairs. They sell photo books, usually have an exhibit up and also have prints for sale. They host a guy that sells filters once a month, got a good deal on a yellow and red filter from him.

    Treehouse - Honolulu HI
Just found this place on a long lay over. Decent selection of used cameras and lenses. They carry cinestill film and also some hard to find Japanese films, picked up a roll of Fuji natura 1600 to try out. They carry some products from analog enthusiast companies that I've never seen at a brick in mortar before (i.e. JCH cases, patches, straps, etc.). They have a pretty good selection of photo books and I was surprised to see they had the newly released Jupiter 3 lens. They stock paper and chemicals, for the college kids. Definitely gonna come back to this shop when I'm in town.

Wings Camera on Briarcliff Road in Atlanta is a great little analog camera store. They have been in business for 104 years and have a great selection of used cameras and lenses plus a wealth of assorted bits and pieces. Wings Camera and Digital

Don's Camera's and Fine Jewelry - Lihue (Kauai), HI

This place is near the airport and more of a consignment jewelry store than a camera shop. The owner has a unique collection of Canon rangefinders on display, none of them work and are not for sale. He's also got several vintage Pentax bodies and lenses on display which are non functional and not for sale either. If your a fan of either it's worth a look. They have some used film bodies and lenses with are for sale, mostly Nikon, but the RFs and Pentax stuff made sticking my end in worth it.

The owner is a salty old photog who as boxing up a Leica CL with the 40mm attached that a college student convinced him to sell for $300. He didn't want to sell it b/c the body hadn't worked in decades and he told the student it wasn't worth it to send it in to get fixed. The lens had some fungus on it too. The owner only sold it b/c the student stated he would work on it himself and not send it in as advised. The owner threw in an old 90mm M-mount that also had fungus as part of the deal. Weird transaction but probably typical for that store. Made me want to take a run at one of the Canon RFs but was pressed for time.

Small studio style store front, located several convenient blocks from Treehouse. Decent selection of used cameras and lenses but what stood out to me was the prices. Their used Leica bodies and lens were priced a few hundred dollars below what some of the major dealers on the mainland sell their stock for. The owner can do minor repairs and senor cleanings. If your familiar with POW WOW this store is located within a couple of blocks from where a lot of the murals can be found.

Antique Mall of America - Las Vegas

I checked this place out on the recommendation of a B&C employee. This is basically a large collection of several antique vendors managed by a single group of people. There are several vendors that have a few film cameras in addition to other items, all in questionable states and conditions. There is one particular booth, #130, who only sells cameras and whose wears look clean and functional. Booth 130 has two cases full of cameras and lenses, which were moderately priced. The big draw back to this Mall is that most of the pickers for each both aren't there, b/c all transactions are handled by the people running the mall, so you can't ask any questions about a camera or lens that your interested in.

As a side note, the same B&C employee told me that in Las Vegas stores that sell new camera gear are required to get a permit in order to sell used gear. Which is why you don't find any stores selling used camera gear, other than pawn shops.

In the UK, we have a relatively healthy supply of places to buy second-hand film cameras, lenses and accessories. These range from high-end Leica, Hasselblad, etc to more "user"gear. A few of my favourites are:

Aperture, Rathbone Place, London Aperture UK
Real Camera Company, Dale Street, Manchester The Real Camera Company - Manchester Camera Retailer
West Yorkshire Cameras, Leeds West Yorkshire Cameras: the Proper Camera Shop

There are loads more, of course, and some are more specialist than others. However, I've always found these guys extremely helpful and the kit I've bought has been exactly as advertised.
